Compare and Contrast :)

Many people think that people in the city and the country like to do the same things for fun, but they don’t. People in the country do a lot more than the people in the city.

People in the country like to go hunting, mudding, and fishing for fun. They also like going to football games on friday nights and having bonfires with friends on saturday nights. Sometimes it is fun to go cow tipping, but also it can be very dangerous to do. So you  have to be careful when going cow tipping.

People in the city like to go shopping and go to movies for fun. Sometimes they like to take a long walk in the park or ride bikes. On friday and saturday nights many people like to go to  bars and clubs to party with friends. Many people like to go out to eat at restaurants and take tours to art museums.

Country people and city people sometimes like to do the same things for fun. They like to go to church on sunday mornings. They also like to have cookouts with family and catch fireflies in a mason jar. Also sometimes they like to go ride four wheelers and go  mudding. Many people like to go fishing all the time for fun.

The Simple Life

In this T.V show called The Simple Life, two girls go from being rich and having everything to being poor and barely having anything. They have to see what its like to work for what they want instead of just getting it handed to them.

My opinion about this show is that it is not any good.I don't like this show. I think that it is just a waste of time and I wouldn't want to watch it.I think that it is pointless because they know they can't survive in the country life when they have been living in the city life all their life.

I interviewed by aunt to see what she thinks about this T.V show. Here are some questions that I asked her:

1.) Do you like the show The Simple Life?
She said no I do not like the show the Simple Life because they are acting stupid and don't know what their doing. It doesn't seem like it would be any good to watch.
2.) Do you think that it was a waste of time to make this T.V show?
Yes, I do think that it was a waste of time because it isn't any good to watch and I wouldn't want to waste my time watching something that isn't any good.
3.) Would you watch it again if it came back on T.V?
No, I would not watch it again because I didn't like this show.

History of Farming

history of farming available at
http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6055/6286624273_282a0e3d8d_m.jpg

Farming began in the Fertile Crescent. The people before this time lived by hunting animals and gathering plants. Then people began to grow wheat and other crops that they found growing wild. After a while, farming began to spread even more throughout Europe. People in Europe used oxen to pull ploughs for their farms.

The Nile River was a gift of Egypt. It provided water for the crops to grow. It also deposited silt on the land which made it very fertile. During the Neolithic Revolution, many people discovered how to fully domesticate animals. This was the most single significant development in history. Farms have changed the way people live. Many people today don’t have farms. Instead of growing their own food, they buy their food at the grocery store.
Farming today is different than farming back then. Today we have more advanced machinery that helps us grow our crops than the people back then did. Back then people had to grow their crops by hand and it took a long time for their crops to grow. Today it doesn’t take long to grow our crops. It is a good idea to learn how to start a farm because soon our economy is going to break down and we won’t have any money to buy anything like food. So having a farm you will be able to grow your own food. Most people won’t survive when this happens because they never have had any experience with having a farm. I hope you have learned a little bit about the history of farming.

How to start a farm :)

When starting a farm there are a lot of things you need to do in order to start your farm. First you will need to ask questions to people who have farms and start a plan of what you are going to be growing. Also think of how you are going to do that. After you do that, then you can start buying and preparing things for your farm.

Here are the things you need to do to start you farm:

  1.    Figure out what kind of farm you want to have.
  2. Then buy some land that is big enough for the kind of farm you want.
  3. You can start planting your crops now and make sure you take very good care of them.
  4. After awhile if your crops are doing well, then you can pick your crops and sell them to people and trade them to other farmers for other crops.

If you plan on having cows, you can go to the livestock sale and buy whichever kind you want. If you want to make money, then you would want to get Black Angus cows. If you have cows you will need horses to move them from pasture to pasture. Quarter Horses are the best for this job. To have horses you will need a barn, a round pen, and an arena for training. You will have to keep your cows and horses in separate pastures or the horses will not work the cows. You will also need large storage buildings to store hay and crops in. Also you may need dogs and cats to keep the critters away. Things like chickens and goats will also need special pens and food for them. They are good for eggs, milk, and meat.
